Robert Schmittgens is a born-and-raised St. Louisan who was destined for the courtroom from a young age. Growing up, Robert was the one who always stood up to bullies, viewing the word “no” not as a final answer, but as an invitation to negotiate. A graduate of Chaminade College Preparatory and a standout honors student at Quincy University, he later made history at the UMKC School of Law as part of the winningest mock trial team in the school's record. Today, as the founder of Schmittgens Injury Law Firm, he brings that same relentless spirit to his practice, specializing in personal injury and protecting the "little guy" against billion-dollar insurance conglomerates.
Known in the community as a "mensch" with a sharp sense of humor, Robert balances a high-stakes legal career with a vibrant family life alongside his wife, Teresa—a Lt. Col. in the MO Air National Guard—and their two children. Whether he is arguing in front of the Illinois Court of Appeals or supporting the St. Louis City SC, Robert’s mission is centered on diligent, compassionate representation. He believes that true advocacy is about making sure every client feels heard, respected, and empowered to secure the justice they deserve.
